  • Ruffalo joined Marvel’s Kevin Feige onstage today at D23 Expo to share an exclusive trailer of “Avengers: Infinity War” alongside other Marvel Cinematic Universe favorites, like Dave Bautista, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., Karen Gillan, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Pom Klementieff, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, and co-director Joe Russo.

Following the screening — which received deafening applause from the audience — Ruffalo spoke to Variety about a potential spin-off of his own.

I want to just make one thing perfectly clear today: A standalone ‘Hulk’ movie will never happen. Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel. And, they don’t want to make money.

  • Since yesterday our twitter timeline is being bombarded with mentions on Mark joining the #OscarsSoWhite boycott, with THR posting an article titled “Ruffalo “Weighing” Not Attending Ceremony Over Diversity Issue”, in which he apparently has been misquoted and causing some confusion. That is because yesterday while on Spotlight premiere red carpet, he gave an interview to Sky News in which he says to be sympathetic to the cause.

    [su_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Smt9lznrwS8″ height=”320″]

Mark also says he has been struggling with the question because he “represents” the victims whose stories feature in his movie. After all confusion, he went on twitter to clarify that, yes, he IS attending the Oscars.

I do support the Oscar Ban movement’s position that the nominations do not reflect the diversity of our community. The Oscar Ban movement reflects a larger discussion about racism in the criminal justice system. I hope the OscarBan people are also willing to step up and support the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Where black bodies are in jeopardy daily.

  • The actor looks back on highlights from his career, including his directorial debut ‘Sympathy for Delicious’ and his Oscar-nominated turn in ‘Foxcatcher.’

You Can Count on Me (2000)
Laura [Linney] and I didn’t do anything consciously to tap into the sibling relationship. We were often together in this crazy little summer hotel called Wildacres in upstate New York. It was an old giant farmhouse. So, we were always together. We ate all our meals together. And we cleaned chicken coops together. We were like brother and sister on a family vacation. We didn’t push. It was just natural from the moment we met each other. There was a simpatico between us. It was strange. It was immediately very familiar and familial.

    Zodiac (2007)
I knew that [director] David [Fincher] is tough. And I am not. So I see I was a little nervous about it. Then I learned that’s just the way David worked. About two?thirds of the way into the movie, I invited a bunch of the cast members to my trailer on a Friday night, including David. He notoriously keeps a very low profile. He doesn’t really hangout with the cast and crew per se. Then I saw him was outside my trailer, just walking back and forth with a glass in his hand. I was like, ‘Hey, you want to come in for a drink?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, that would be nice.’ He said to me, ‘You know, I’ve never made anything like this. I don’t know if they’re going to kill me or celebrate me.’ And finally I said, ‘Oh, let’s have a drink.’ That was really a nice moment where we connected outside of work. And we remained friends since then.

  • In “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which opened at No.1 at the box office this spring, the Incredible Hulk and his Marvel superhero comrades ward off such evils as an army of robot drones, a villain with superhuman speed and an artificial intelligence system set on exterminating the human race.

But in the real world, where the problems are decidedly less supernatural,Mark Ruffalo — the 47-year-old actor underneath the Hulk makeup and muscular green digital imaging — works just as hard to save the planet.

Case in point: Last week, Ruffalo helped launch the 100& campaign through The Solutions Project, which he co-founded. The campaign’s goal is to make clean energy accessible and affordable for 100 percent of the population by providing tools to switch to clean energy (such as a hotline to help find quality service providers) and spotlighting stories of clean energy leadership. Today, 91 communities in Illinois are operating on 100 percent renewable electricity. [more at source]
