  • Our gallery was updated with several pictures of Mark on set of his upcoming film Spotlight, donated by our friend Lindsey from rachelmcadams.org.

It was reported a few days ago that Spotlight got a November 6, 2015 release date in the U.S., with expanding on Nov. 13 and going wide on Nov. 20.

Screendaily notes that the slot is prime awards season territory and comes four days after the start of the AFI FEST in Los Angeles, which must rank as a contender for the film’s world premiere launch pad. The movie has also been linked as a contender for opening film of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. No confirmation has been made so far.

“Spotlight,” the movie based on The Boston Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning series exposing the Catholic Church abuse scandal, and directed by Tom McCarthy, has an impressive cast that includes Liev Schreiber as former Globe editor Marty Baron, Michael Keaton as Spotlight team editor Walter Robinson, Mark Ruffalo as reporter Michael Rezendes, Rachel McAdams as reporter Sacha Pfeiffer, Brian d’Arcy James as reporter Matt Carroll, and Maureen Keiller as former Globe columnist Eileen McNamara.

Also, thanks to Mouza for taking care of the site while I was away. It’s good to be back.
