WPRI has also some more infos about the movie:

Quiet on the set! Film cameras are rolling now and for the next six weeks in and around Providence on an independent movie starring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana.

On Tuesday, Federal Hill — and the area right around Joe Marzilli’s Old Canteen restaurant on Atwells Avenue — doubled as 1970’s Boston. Providence today looks more like Boston did in the 70’s, said producer Austin Stark.

Producer Sam Bisbee, who lived in Rhode Island till he was nine years old, said the Renaissance City offered plenty of ideal locations for the period piece: “We had to have a mansion, we have a run-down apartment, we have this incredible restaurant. We’re all over this city, and it’s incredible what we can accomplish here,” Bisbee said.

The “quirky drama” is set in 1978. Ruffalo plays a dad with bipolar disorder who decides to stop taking his medicine while trying to take care of his two young daughters. His wife (played by Saldana) ends up getting her MBA and moving out of the house.

“Amidst wild mood swings and unique challenges, the four of them manage to figure out a new and unconventional way to be a family,” the Rhode Island Film and TV Office said in a news release Tuesday.

The goal is to get the movie picked up by a major film festival like Sundance, with wider distribution possibly a year and a half from now.
