  • A batch of new Foxcatcher images have landed online this week (via EntertainThis) and I have them added to the gallery. Foxcatcher opens in theaters on November 14th and stars Mark Ruffalo, Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Anthony Michael Hall, and Vanessa Redgrave.

Steve Carell stars as John du Pont, an eccentric millionaire who decided to host an Olympic Wrestling training camp on his grounds despite having no experience with the sport himself. The crux of the film revolves around du Pont’s relationship with Olympic Champion brothers Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) and Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo), and in particular du Pont’s mentorship of the younger brother Mark, who lived in the shadow of his more successful brother.

  • As part of the Climate Pledge Campaign, Mark, model Lily Cole, and MP for Bexhill & Battle/Former Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change Greg Barker attendrf Mark Ruffalo Takes The Meat Free Pledge at Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York City. Mark has tweeted a few days ago about the Meat Free Mondays, an initiative launched this month. According to the website, 14.5% of global carbon emissions are directly related to meat production. It’s the campaign’s hope that going vegetarian for at least one day a week will combat climate change in a major way. It will hopefully also act as a first step, paving the way for people to eat even less meat, or adopt a total vegetarian or vegan diet.

As a vegetarian myself, I highly approve it! Also, watch here the campaign video Sir Paul McCartney has made.

  • I’m here primarily for my children. I want to see the leaders of the world hear the will of the people and begin to implement 100% renewable energy for 100% of the people.

Tens of thousands of protesters — Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo among them — marched Sunday calling for global action on climate change. The two-mile People’s Climate March began at 11:30 a.m., packing Central Park West, Sixth Ave. and concluding at 34th St. and 11th Ave.

Participants came from all backgrounds — environmental activists walked next to indigenous peoples groups, victims of Hurricane Sandy, labor unions and religious groups, to name a few. They pushed a variety of causes, from anti-fracking to opposition of the Keystone pipeline stretching from Canada to the United States.

The march coincides with the city’s climate week, which de Blasio kicked off by announcing a commitment to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80% of 2005 levels by 2050.

Mark also recorded this video to Amazon Watch while he joined their sunrise ceremony in Central Park to receive blessings from indigenous leaders from around the world who are on the front lines of climate change.
