Representatives from New York City’s clean water advocacy groups joined actor Mark Ruffalo in Foley Square on Monday to urge President Barack Obama to call a vote for more comprehensive hydrofracking regulations. At yesterday’s event, Ruffalo’s WaterDefense.org, along with Food & Water Watch, called for an environmental study of the effects of hydrofracking.
“Time is of the essence,” Ruffalo said. “I’m here to ask President Obama to ask the federal agencies that are in charge of the Delaware River Basin to stop drawing regulations and begin a serious environmental impact study.” (Read more)
